Happy Friday! Last year, my husband and I went through a late-night pizza phase. Around 9 p.m. on many nights, we’d each develop a craving for a slice. We’d tell each other we’re taking the dog on her last walk of the day before ending up at either F&F, Nate’s or Baby Luc’s. We know how to party.
Frenzie, the wine and pizza bar from the Confidant team, officially opened in Brooklyn Heights yesterday. What most caught my eye about the menu is the late-night drink-and-slice combo option. Starting 10 p.m., you can get a martini and a slice (or another drink) for $20 or less. It’s a fabulous value for anyone who’s been out all day and looking for a little something before they turn in. Last weekend, we stopped by Frø Bakehouse in Red Hook to try their Summer Smørrebrød Series, featuring two of Chef Jess Freeman’s takes on the open-faced sandwich. Good eats. While there, I saw signs for Red Hook Books, which is now open, and a self-serve sidewalk fridge by Jean’s Pops (homemade organic popsicles) that I thought was quite genius.
Also spotted: a $10-per-day valet service in Carroll Gardens.

Cars aren't sentient beings. They are powered by humans who make poor decisions that cause injury and damage on a regular basis. Language like this removes responsibility. We are lucky that this crash only caused damage, and no physical harm, but remember, these were actions of people, not cars.
