The Summer We All Watched TV Together
Introducing 'TV Summer,' a photo series by Ben Whitmore
Some summers come and go. It’s a little too hot to do anything, Brooklyn Farmacy is packed and the streets smell like pee and trash. Your feed is alight with aesthetic snapshots of your friends’ European vacations — Aperol Spritz in the foreground, coastline in the background. You pass the time in your apartment, doomscrolling and watching TV, air con on full blast.
Not this summer. The Knicks are NBA champions. The World Cup is in NYC (New Jersey). America is 250 years old.
You are watching TV, though outside at your local bar, surrounded by strangers. You drink and cheer together, hoping for a singular outcome. It’s hot and you’ve been sweating for hours, but the vibes are too good to leave. Someone shakes their fist in the air, a sign of victory. You match their energy and do the same.
Years from now, they’ll ask you, “Where were you Summer 2026?”
You were here.

Love this!
Best summer ever.
