New York City has a new mayor! The New York Times created an interactive map of the mayoral election results, and Brooklyn Bridge Parents used this data to break out how Brooklyn neighborhoods voted. Overall, West Brooklyn voted for Mamdani, though some counts were closer than others.
The Court Street Merchants Association is suing the City over the Court Street bike lane, saying it’s hurting business. There are questions as to whether the Department of Transportation conducted outreach to local businesses ahead of the bike lane installment.
Red Hook artists say they’ve been denied access to their studios more than a month after a five-alarm fire took down the warehouse storing their works. They’re calling on the city task force for help.
The owners of Industry City are seeking a rezoning that would add more than a million square feet of new development via hotels, stores, academic facilities and more. Their vision is to transform the complex into a hub for “innovation economy” businesses.
P.S. 58 has planted a memorial garden in honor of a nine-year-old girl who died of cancer last year.
Cobble Hill is the fifth most expensive neighborhood in NYC, with a median sale price of $2,275,000, according to Property Shark.
Atlantic Avenue has two newcomers and one transplant. D.S. & Durga, the fragrance brand, and Darling, a children’s boutique, opened storefronts. Cabin Modern, which sources Mid-century Modern furniture from Scandinavia, Europe and America, relocated after 11 years on Court.
Cobble Hill Ballet and Union Market are both heading to Gowanus.
Sandwiches for dinner? Court Street Grocers has extended their hours to 6pm. They also opened Thanksgiving pre-orders for carved turkey “and all the fixins.”
La Bicyclette also opened Thanksgiving pre-orders. Apple Tarte Normande, anyone?

City Foundry is having a studio sale of vintage furniture today, Nov. 8, and tomorrow, Nov. 9, from 11am to 5pm in Industry City.
The Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club Boathouse is holding its annual Banjo Toss, part of the Brooklyn Folk Fest, tomorrow, Nov. 9 from 1pm to 2:30pm.
Loafers Cocktail Bar is hosting a trivia series every other Sunday starting tomorrow, Nov. 9.
Blackbird Spyplane, Tarvas and Nitty Gritty Worldwide are throwing a Moss Wanderer launch party with Ven. Space on Thursday, Nov. 13.
Tatter Blue Library’s upcoming embroidery series spans Ottoman Empire-era Turkish embroidery (Thursday, Nov. 13) and Mountmellick whitework (Thursday, Nov. 20).
Animal Loving Care is hosting a puppy playdate with a professional dog trainer next Saturday, Nov. 15.
